A dozen riders for Valentines Day

Barningham Lunch stop

Twelve set off on a tortuous route to Stanton Garden Centre for coffee. At one point we were heading toward Newmarket, however our leader soon had us pointing east not west and the twelve made good time over the twenty miles to our mid morning break. Arriving at intervals to break up the queue for food we met Christine Bass and then got separated as they didn’t have a table big enough for the bakers dozen!

The hop from Stanton to Barningham would be less than two miles by B road, but George had other ideas. We headed toward Hepworth, got lost, then headed toward Hinderclay, ended up in Wattisfield and got lost again and finally ended up in Thelnetham. From there we followed the road to Hopton and on toward Coney Weston before turning to Barningham and a rather good lunch at the Royal George.

12 riders on 25 wheels (one tricycle), no punctures and a great day out in the late winter sun.

The daffodils are already out.
