Across the boarder to Norfolk 21-03-24
Dewi, Martin, Frank, Stella & Nick ( leading) met up in Swaffham to finally ride a route that has been cancelled twice previously due to weather.
The ride was colder than anticipated and we had a fairly stiff head wind on and off for 2/3 of the ride. A couple of new stops:
The Cart Shed in Great Massingham for Coffee – a very small Café, but good quality food & drinks, Will be worth a visit in the Summer months with the outdoor seating and pleasant environs, Lunch was at the excellent Litcham Deli, which has impressed me on previous solo visits and was a clear hit with the other riders today.
A couple of observations: less pot holes and seemingly better road surfaces than Suffolk. The first 2 legs of the ride were on very quiet roads and the car drivers seemed more friendly than we are used to. This did change on the ride back into Swaffham however with “normal service” resumed!
48 miles and a very pleasant ride and change of scenery.
